How do I print my insurance card?
Simply click on the "My Policy Service" tab located in the top right hand corner on mitchellinsurance.net and log in to the corresponding company to access your policy documents.

How do I pay my bill online?
Simply click on the "Make A Payment" tab located in the top right hand corner of our homepage, mitchellinsurance.net, and click on the appropriate company payment link.  Some companies may require you to sign in with your account info.  If you have not already made an account, you will be asked to enroll or sign up.  If you need further help, please contact us and we will gladly help create your online account.

What are my payment method options?

For most insurance policy types, you can make a payment:

    Online
        -Credit or Debit Card:  A one-time payment that charges the credit or debit card you provide. 
        -An online eCheck:  Simply provide your bank account and routing number.
        -Easy Pay Plan:  Convenient, automatic withdrawals from your checking or savings account.  
        -Recurring Credit Card Pay Plan:  Automatically charges the credit or debit card you provide.

What happens if I'm late with a payment or miss a payment?
Unfortunately, if you're late or miss a payment, you risk a lapse in coverage, cancellation, or termination of your policy, as well as any incurring late fees.  You can pay online now, as well as set up automatic payments, so you have the peace of mind of knowing you'll never be late or miss a payment.  You may also contact us to make a payment and/or to discuss your payment options.

How much should I pay?
For most insurance policy types, you can pay any amount between the "Minimum Amount Due" and the "Pay in Full" amount, as indicated on your bill.  For life insurance policies, you should pay the full amount due on your policy as indicated on your bill.

Can I make one payment for multiple policies?
Yes, you can make a single payment online for multiple policies.  However, it will appear as separate charges/withdrawals for each of your policies based on the payment method you use.

If I pay online, will my bill still be sent in the mail?
Yes.  As long as your policy has not been paid in full, and you are not enrolled in any paperless billing options, you will continue to be sent a paper statement in the mail.

Will I received an online payment receipt?
Yes.  After making a payment request online, you will see a confirmation screen and receive an email confirmation of your payment.

Can I make multiple online payments for one insurance policy during a single billing period?
Yes.  To avoid late payments or lapses in coverage, just make sure that the "Minimum Amount Due" has been paid by the Due Date on your bill.

How can I find out when my payment to my insurance policy was applied?
For most policy types, you can check your account status online to find out when your last payment was applied.  You can also contact us.  It generally takes 24 to 48 hours for an online payment to be reflected on your policy.  For debit and ATM transactions, the payment amount will be deducted from your account immediately on the date you choose.

How do I report a claim to you?
There are two ways:
    Online:  You can report an accident online on our website, 24 hours a day.  Simply click the "File A Claim" tab in the top right hand corner of mitchellinsurance.net and fill out the proper form.

    Phone:  You can call us at 940-586-1273, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.  A representative will help you through the process and answer your questions.  Also, you may report directly to your insurance company using the phone number on your insurance card.

Do I really need auto insurance?
Yes, all driver need auto insurance coverage.  In fact, it's the law in most states.  You're required to carry a minimum amount of auto insurance.  Often, you can't even get an auto loan or lease unless you first show proof of insurance.  Although many of the different coverage types are optional, liability coverage is mandatory in most states.  Liability coverage may help you meet state driving requirements, however you should consider buying higher levels of coverage to provide greater protection for you and others.

It is impossible to know the cost of damage you might incur in an accident.  However, you should base your coverage amounts on your vehicle, your personal assets and other factors.  It is important to review these criteria carefully so you can align your auto policy with your lifestyle.

In some instances, it may not be.  While you must meet your state's minimum coverage requirement, there are no specific rules regarding the amount of additional coverage you can buy.

Do I qualify for a discount on my auto insurance?
Discounts are determined by a variety of factors.  Generally, your premium may decrease the longer you drive without having an accident or getting a ticket.  Students with good grades may also qualify for savings.  We also offer discounts for:

Insurance companies base premiums on a variety of criteria.  Insurers generally consider the following factors, among others:

What is an installment fee?
An installment fee may be charged separate from the premium when a customer elects to pay less than the "Pay In Full" amount.  This fee offsets expenses including those associated with processing the additional payments.  Charging this fee allows insurance companies to offer our customers additional options for making payments.

What should I do if I am in an accident?
If you are in an accident you should:
    -Stop your vehicle.  If you're blocking traffic, or the location isn't safe, move your vehicle to a safe place nearby.  The law requires you to stop; failure to do so could result in a ticket or a warrant for your arrest. 
    -Make sure everyone is safe.  If necessary, call 911 for medical assistance.
    -Never admit fault.  The fault of an accident is not always clear and admitting fault when questionable or incorrect may have negative consequences. 
    -Exchange contact information.  Exchange names, addresses and phone numbers with all parties involved in the accident and with any witnesses present.
    -Get additional information.  Get the license plate numbers, insurance company names and policy numbers for all vehicles involved in the accident.
    -Call the police and let them decide if they should come to the scene.  It's especially important to contact the police if the accident involves injuries, a hit-and-run or a dispute about liability.
    -Cooperate with the police by giving them accident details and answering their questions.  Be sure to get the names and phone numbers of any officers on the scene, as well as the number of the police report.
    -Take pictures.  If you have a camera with you or on your cell phone, take pictures of the accident location, damage to all the vehicles or property involved and other relevant details of the accident scene. 
    -Call a tow company if your vehicle isn't fit to drive.  Get the name, address and phone number of the company.  You are responsible for your vehicle and where it's repaired.  You can decline service from unsolicited tow operators who arrive at the scene, and you can choose where your vehicle is towed. 
    -Report the incident to us as soon as possible.
